The BlackBird by ART has been designed to facilitate climbing both with a single rope system (SRS/SRT) and a moving rope system (MRS/DRT). Without additional adjustments or tools, it is possible to switch between both techniques. The rope does not need to be removed from the device for this. The construction allows for identical descent behaviour in SRT and MRS. The BlackBird can be fully opened with a push button and can be is mid-line attachable without the device needing to be detached from the harness.

The integrated swivel ensures optimal alignment at all times. The upper carabiner attachment is positioned opposite the user, allowing the rope to be easily fed into the device. The upper attachment point can also be used for V-rigs as well as 3:1 or 4:1 pulley systems. A ball-bearing pulley allows for comfortable operation, even without a lot of slack. For individual adjustments, the cam can be rotated on the friction amplifier. A carabiner attachment enables connection to the chest harness to pull up the device during ascent.

Do you feel like your carabiner could be held more firmly in the ART Blackbird attachment point? Well, Arbsession printed a product to do just that!
The grommet for the ART Blackbird just snaps right into place, and holds a carabiner snugly in place. Designed and printed in the USA by the Arbsession Prototype Mill.
Based on customer feedback the grommet now has a slimmer top bump for less interference with the swivel and more inner spacing which allows easier installation of the carabiner.

The ISC KL121 is a standard size true oval supersafe carabiner with an effective working length of 85mm (3.4 inches). Many industrial oval carabiners have an offset shape, in order to bias (offset) the load towards the spine (the strongest part of the carabiner), to achieve additional major axis strength. The KL121 however is ideal when load centralisation, correct orientation and optimal loading are the top priorities, to enable balance in a system.
The KL121 is the first ISC carabiner that is available with the option of a screw-in screw-out captive pin. The screw-in captive pin can easily be installed and removed as required, using a standard 2mm Allen Hex Key, making it quick and easy to swap lanyards etc., as and when they need to be replaced.
