Customer Questions
For these pants in particular that are UL Rated they conforms to the ASTM F1897-14 (2014) – leg protection for chainsaw users in the USA and ASTM F3325 (2019) – leg protection for chainsaw users in Canada.
This is different than the Type/Design A, or C and the Class 1, 2 or 3 you see. Which to our understanding is the European method.
These UL Rated pants have the front protection only not the calf wrap. Which would equal a Type A style chainsaw protection pant.
Comfortable protective climbing pants
I have a couple pair of these that I’ve been climbing in during cooler weather. They are very comfortable and offer lots of leg protection, not just from chainsaw, but from every day abrasion from branches and bark. The bootlace hook needs to be re-engineered using different material. The small tab that holds the hook has fallen apart.
Good pants
Definitely the coolest looking pants in my opinion, and are comfortable. A couple tweaks are needed- the bib on the back side is pointless and causes your shirt to ride up. I don't wear suspenders and nobody I know does. I just cut it off with scissors and it's much better. The bootlace hooks should also be bent inward more to really hold on. Other than that the Arbortec Breatheflex Pro are great pants.
