Love it
I actually got the pink version of these and love them. I don’t notice any difference from the smaller ones from a getting caught standpoint but love them for holding a lot of rigging slings and such or just a bigger hook for a saw.
Perfect storage
The size is perfect for storing rigging equipment ,slings,blocks, extra rope and being able to keep the gate open is such a nice feature creating easier access!
Doesnt lock but havent had an issue yet
Very large gate and lots of capacity. Nice for hauling around large blocks/slings/ropes. You can easily set a large saw handle right into it. Frame is thin and can be a little difficult to open and get something out of if it is tucked all the way behind you.
It's awesome regardless
Got this DMM Mega Vault in matte black and was stoked especially with being able to lock the gate back. Got it and noticed the part that locked the gate wasn't as strong as I thought and anytime I racked my saw or anything it would release and the gate would be back. I've gotten used to it now but would've been awesome to have that feature work correctly. Did order a pink one and that one clicks and keeps the gate locked!
DMM Mega Vault - very nice
I have been using DMM Vaults since I started climbing. My opinion is they are better than Rock Exotica Transporters as the Transporter hook is way too small (shallow). You can't hardly carry anything with them - no big ropes. I now have one DMM Mega Vault and I may get another. Perfect for carrying bigger ropes or multiple ropes on one hook. For example, I think my pocketSLING is 5/8" . I can hook my sling in three places with the Mega Vault so it isn't hanging down past my feet.
