Not Necessarily Perfect, But Probably The Best
I agonized over buying this saw. I'm a Stihl guy for my gas saws. And due to the price of entry (and existing batteries), I was trying to make due with the M18 fuel battery saw. That one would have worked, but there was a recall on the chain break and I needed a climbing saw while waiting for the repair. I was already impressed with how well the Milwaukee cut, but the Husky is noticeably a bit hungrier. I don't have any concerns about having the oomph to power through those cuts that need to made quickly. A few cons: 1. I'm not in love with the lanyard hook set-up. It's too small to reliably hit my Shembiner without looking and it's not situated in a way that allows it to be done by feel. 2. There's a split second delay between pulling the trigger and chain actuation. People seem content to live with this, and although it bugs me less over time, it's still not ideal.
Good saw
This is a good saw for limbing branches and bucking small diameter sections of log. For getting firewood it works great in conjunction with another saw for bucking larger stuff.
Ground saw dream
I now own two of these for my business. We have one with each crew. They are the best all around ground saw I have ever used for bucking and preparing for the chipper or a grapple. The fact that you don’t have to worry about the start up process if you left it in the sun is amazing. It has made are crews much more efficient. Only downside is side is the batteries in the extreme cold. They need to be warm to charge/use so just don’t leave the batteries in the truck over night in the winter.
