Great to build knee ascender
The first knee ascender I ever ran, I made with a Petzl Basic, a foot loop and some bungee material. Those items with some thought and tweaking had me ascending and rope walking in no time. Thumbs up for sure
Buy it!
This is an essential piece of kit. I use the Petzl Basic on long limb walks to double up my SRS set up, makes coming back in easier. Makes a great substitute for a Hass system as well, couple biners and some bungee cord and you have a knee ascender.
Works great
I spliced a 6” long 3 strand handle to the bottom of the Petzl Basic and use it as a hand ascender. Its small, lightweight and stores easy with the hole at the top. It can be opened with one hand. Nothing to complain about.
