- Design facilitates rope glide on the first few meters
- Toothed cam with self-cleaning slot optimizes performance under a variety of conditions (such as frozen or dirty ropes)
- Mechanism is totally integrated into the body of the rope clamp to help prevent snagging
- Releases from the rope with a simple backwards movement of the foot
- Quick and easy to adjust with DOUBLEBACK buckle
- Catch available as accessory to keep the rope in the device during rope ascents - Durable construction:
- Stainless steel cam offers excellent corrosion resistance
- High-modulus polyethylene strap is abrasion-resistant - Note: The PANTIN is not an item of PPE.

Middle of the road foot ascender, very light. It will cause you frustration if you don't buy the catch.
Light and compact
This is my first ascender but it's very light and compact yet works great. I'd but it again if I need another foot ascended. .
Lightweight and small
This was my first foot ascender and I loved it until I got the Notch. The Petzl Pantin fits nicely and works extremely efficiently. I only choose the Notch over the Petzl for its ease of release and dual grabs.
The standard
The pantin foot ascender is a tried and true classic. I've been climbing on the same one for 6yrs with no issues. It's nice and small as well so it doesn't get in the way when trying to shove your foot in the crotch of a branch either.
