  - Two possible descent modes: with the rope running over the side plate or in the V-shaped friction channel, which provides better descent control and helps keep the rope from kinking
  - Can be used connected to the harness or to an anchor
  - Once the rope is blocked, it is possible to ascend in short spurts without manipulating the handle by simply pulling the rope through the device
  - Can be used to belay a lead with techniques used in climbing
• Durable and repairable:
  - Reinforced protection on the rope friction zone helps prevent premature wear on the moving side plate
  - Cam shape improves rope pinching and limits wear on the device
  - For a longer-lasting solution or to account for intensive use and demanding work conditions, this version of the Petzl RIG is repairable; replace the cam and pin using the repair kit (sold separately)
