Pfanner Protos Integral Arborist Helmet
The extreme demands of Forestry and Arborist work were what inspired the development of the Pfanner Protos Integral Helmet. It is made for maximum safety and comfort. Therefore, all parts of the Protos, from visor to hearing protection, are integrated within the shell of the helmet to prevent catching on obstacles, such as branches. Furthermore, The innovative inner shell offers superior comfort and additional safety around the neck area.
SENA installation: 1-3 days to complete. It will ship as soon as it's completed.
- Unit will be installed "Mic in Muff". See image in description below for an example of a "Mic in Muff" install.
- If you prefer standard mic location, please mention it in your order comments. We do not recommend this way and broken wires are not covered under warranty.
- Tufftalk installs lose the ability for the muffs to slide back into the helmet. Muffs do adjust straight out off the ears.

With the SENA 30K system you have the option of using bluetooth Mesh. Which theoretically can have unlimited number of people connected. Granted everyone needs to have SENA mesh on their helmets as well.
Yes you can replace just the chin strap. All the protos accessories are found in the following place: Climbing > Head Protection > Accessories

I can't lie, it's warm in the south east humidity but it's comfortable, and very importantly well balanced. And install the Sena right away!
Great helmet
These helmets are pricey but they are worth the money. Super comfortable. Lots of adjustment. Not too heavy. Sometimes the face shield gets in the way when climbing but it’s not a big deal.
Excellent helmet
When I purchased the Protos my main criteria was safety, visibility, ease of use and add accessories not being easily grabbed by branches or ropes. The Protos fit all the requirements. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. The ear muffs fold back out of the way, are very comfortable and quiet and like all accessories are easy to replace. The helmet is very comfortable and light. It just took awhile to get all the strap adjustments right. I love my Protos, it was well worth the investment.
it's worth it
My family and I manage a small property with some woods. I don't cut trees every day, or even that often, but when I do I want to be comfortable and safe and that's where this helmet makes all the difference. I've had plenty of other chainsaw helmets that kinda fit or kinda keep the noise down but this helmet really works/fits/functions. And the screen holds up and doesn't get all bent either; if you know you know.

It’s expensive to start a tree company. After a year, I finally bought two of these helmets with Tufftalk M, and it has helped exponentially. The sound is so crisp and clear. The screen is so easy to see through I sometimes forget it’s even on. These helmets have increased my efficiency by reducing communication time. I highly recommend these for any climber or tree business.

Best of the Best! Most Durable Helmet Made
I switched to this helmet last year after a friend of mine took a fall. He landed square on the ground and his head his the edge of the landscaping stones. He had fell around 50' and the Pfanner Protos still protected his head. The helmet didn't even look destroyed all but the foam in the inside was smashed. It was retired of course but that was proof enough for me to switch!
The best
These helmets are fantastic. Basically saved my life after recent accident, not even a concussion! I replaced mine with the olive and yellow color scheme - unfortunately it looks like the black and yellow most of the time. Not what I was hoping for color wise, but the Pfanner Protos is still the most comfy and secure hard hat you're gonna find.

Everyone know the Pfanner Protos helmets are great. My review is on the install of the sena 30k!!! The install in the helmet is so clean. Best Investment for our Company and Crew
These Pfanner Protos helmets have changed out whole crew dynamic. Adding Sena communication to these helmets allows the crew to communicate freely with no yelling over loud equipment and saws. Best Helmet for the Working Arborist
I was skeptical at first...both the weight and the price tag said a lot to me, but the first time you put a Pfanner Protos on, the weight disappears in minutes as you discover just how comfortable it is. The muffs are a cut above your standard 3M clip-ons on any other helmet...two years in, I'm still impressed by how quiet a chipper is while wearing these. The face shield is a GAME CHANGER. I'll compete without the Protos, and I'll climb prunes without the Protos, but I will absolutely not do major tree work without this full head, ear, and face coverage anymore. Once you're used to it, you can't imagine being without it.

Just buy it
Don't wait as long as I did to buy this thing its worth every penny. The Pfanner Protos helmet molds to your head, and is so comfortable. I found myself constantly taking off my previous helmet when I "didn't need it on" when it was hot out. But this helmet can be worn all day comfortably even when it hot out. I even find myself wearing it on the ride between jobs because its so comfortable! Seriously, don't wait, its worth it.

I've been running this Pfanner Protos helmet for about a year now and it's by far the most comfortable helmet that ive used. Infinite adjustability, even for odd sized domes, amazing hearing protection and the streamlined design is perfect.
Star Wars
If I said "I don't feel like a storm trooper in this helmet" you can count on that being a lie. I feel like a storm trooper in this helmet. I definitely like the mesh screen over a plastic half'er. I have definitely taken a hunk of stump chip to the face and was unphased. The Pfanner Protos helmet is well worth the extra penny.
What are you waiting for
This helmet is the best… tons of options and add-ons, great range of sizing, and easily accessible replacement parts. I have a smaller head and had a difficult time finding one that ratchets down enough to fit snugly. The Pfanner Protos helmet is comfortable and lighter than expected. Worth the hefty price tag.
