Rig Guy Large Wire Stop

Rig Guy Wire Stops make tree support cabling installation easy and secure. This larger version works with 5/16" EHS or 3/8" EHS cable.
Details
- The internal taper of the Rigguy Wire Stop fits over the middle strand of 7-strand EHS cable with the six remaining strands surrounding it.
- The more pressure that is applied, the deeper into the block the strand and taper are pulled.
- The block is made of 6061 AL and the taper is made of 304 SS for strength of application and corrosion resistance.
- Although the wire stop is only 1 1/4 inches long, it holds close to 100 percent of the breaking strength of the strand itself
- Wire Stops eliminate the need for lags, hooks, thimbles, bolts, preformed wraps or other terminal hardware.
- It can be used in more applications because it is secured on the outside of the limb or trunk.
- It makes a more finished, less cluttered, installation because of its small size and simplicity.

Preferred cabling hardware
I like the rig guy wore stops. They are very workable and in my research the only found reported failures were from wire stops improperly installed and even at that failures were few as per manufacturer testing.
Too easy
Having so few parts, and such a simple design, Rig Guys will likely be what I use from here on. I have used eye bolts and such, and I am not a fan of having to screw them in. Since this system has the cable running all the way through the stem, it feels more secure to me, like a through bolt, but with a smaller diameter hole. Great for smaller diameter stems where you really want to leave as much wood intact as possible.

Great wire stops that are strong and easy to use.
Favorite EHS cable termination
Streamline, easy to install and I find it to be the strongest system. Requires drilling through the stem. I believe there is a lot the we have to learn when installing material in trees, but this Rig Guy Wire Stop seems to be the most current system to date.

Great product!
These rig guy wire stops not only hold the wire in place, but stay in place. While other cabling methods may pull out, rig guy wire stops are reliable and stay put. On top of that, they can hold excessive amounts of weight. This is the only method of cabling that my company will perform.
Tedious, but quick to install and look great
These guys are a tad hard to work with because of the small pieces, but if you're not a butterfinger you'll be just fine. Quick to install, and lots faster to install than cable clamps and J-lags. Rig Guy Wire Stops are my first choice in 99% of my cabling projects.
