Rock Exotica MiniEight Descender
The MiniEight from Rock Exotica features side ears that let you easily adjust friction and accommodate a wide range of rope sizes. Additionally, the side ears make it easy to tie off. The attachment hole has a rubber gasket that fits tightly to your carabiner. It is made from 7075 aluminum, which is harder and will last longer than cheaper alloys commonly used in other figure 8s.

Very small
Smaller than I anticipated. Size makes it tough to use with the larger half of ropes in arboriculture. Might work decently with 11mm rope but it's just been sitting in an extra gear box for a couple years now...
My 'on-the-go' secondary system
I've been using this little guy for a couple years now. The Rock Exotica MiniEight is smaller than I thought, which is nice, and it's great for a super quick secondary support system. It's great to use the tail of my rope while returning on long limb walks and cabling.
