Rope Sleeve by Dan house is a Friction Saver for arborist ropes. Protect your rope from bark, water, ice, and snow. It is very simple to remove and install from the ground with a simple stopper knot. Installs into a branch as small as 6" diameter.
This device is built out of a flexible conduit with a protected ferrule on each end. The units are taped to ensure proper setting and promote longer wear life.
Details
- 1/2" x 18" is commonly used to protect lanyards from wear
- 1/2" size can be used with 7/16" rope or smaller
- 3/4" size can be used with 9/16" rope or smaller
- 3/4" size will pass a tight eye splice
Warranty: 2 year "No Questions Asked" warranty because they are so tough!

Simple
Nice and simple friction saver, I haven’t tried ring and rings yet, they confuse me. Works great only complaint is I have to work to get my splice thru the 3/4” version.
My go-to Rope protector
Oversee 5 tree crews (3 man) and this Rope Sleeve by Dan House is our go-to rope protector. I haven't encountered the issue the other review mentioned, but honestly a chainsaw file would make short work of any burrs. He's not wrong that one should always inspect your gear before it's used and daily in the field.
Quality materials
Love how simple the idea is. Would probably work great and would use it if I wasn't scared it was gonna shred my rope on the first try. Probably just got a manufacturing error but the inside lip where the conduit terminates has a very sharp burr. Always inspect your gear!
