Not made for the Texas heat
On my second use, the glue that holds the velcro securing the pad basically just melted. I was up in the canopy with the pads around my ankles and the frame digging into my legs. I ended up having to secure the pads onto the frame with some construction adhesive. They've worked fine since then, but for $700 i would think there would be something better than tiny little flimsy velcro dots to hold something as important as the pads.
Super comfy
Lightweight and comfy, but you pay for that with the quality of materials. Ive had to do multiple modifications to mine to keep them from falling apart, but they're still the comfiest i've worn so i will continue to do so. The foot ascender probably could have been beefier and a better design, but oh well, it works.
Very Comfortable
I use the arbpro evo2 which in my opinion isn't the best for spikes, but it does not matter with these spikes. Most comfortable I have used by a lot. The weight is dispersed through multiple points so no single part of the foot takes too much. The padding is thick and well thought out. The velcro straps are very easy on and off, though there are a few more of them. Having an ascender on it is really nice, so you can switch between climbing the spar and climbing the rope. The Edelrid Talon spurs are a little bulky and perhaps a little heavy, so some mobility may be lost, but I don't care in the slightest. So many good things about these spurs.
So Damn Comfy
These are the most comfortable spikes I've ever used. I've been hours with no fatigue, which is uncommon because we do not work in spikes all that often.. so we dont get used to wearing the Edelrid Talon spurs day after day. Having an ascender on it out of the way is extremely nice as well.
