The Weaver Cavern Gear Bag allows the working arborist to comfortably carry all necessary climbing gear with this versatile, heavy-duty gear bag featuring a padded back, removable cover and specialized storage.
This sturdy bag is constructed with heavy-duty tarpaulin for waterproof, mildew-resistant and tear-resistant performance. It has a removable cover with buckle closures to keep your gear inside and protected from the elements. The outside pockets include a specialized handsaw pocket, two pockets with buckle closures, and a zippered front pocket with internal divider and daisy chain.

Well Built, Too Large For The Minimalist
I’m particular about packaging, and this was my first climbing gear bag purchase. I liked the dedicated hand saw pocket and load adjustment straps, and the idea of a climbing gear catch-all bag to be ready for anything...as I gained experience, and fidgeting with un-used gear in a drop zone became a problem I got wise/productive by leaving occasional use items (boots & spurs, second system, friction saver, second rope, ascenders, hand shears, light rigging slings, pulleys-etc.) on the truck. I changed my philosophy in a minimalist direction-keeping a grab-n-go essential climibing kit (rope-on bottom, climb system, harness & clipped bits, hand saw, saw lanyard, 2 throw cubes). This slimmed down kit minimizes gear fidgetry, loss, damage for quick jobs, while keeping the crew busy fetching gear for more involved jobs. With my discovery of more compact & durable throw cubes (Edelrid), I’ve been able to gain access in most trees from one tough, easy off the truck, 45L rope backpack. When I leave the ground, all that is left near the drop zone is two throw cubes and an empty bag, (an empty, compact backpack rope bag doubles its duty for carrying a rope on crane balls). Weaver did offer a smaller version of this bag, which may be a better fit.
This is my gear bag!
Love this gear bag...Very spacious, contains my climbing rope and everything I need for a climb. I can just grab the Weaver Cavern bag out of my truck, throw it on my back, and proceed to tree's base.
