Q: small and large suitable sizes for a friction saver setup?

Yes these rings would work for a friction saver set up.
Q: Will a pinto pulley pass through the large ring?
A:
Unfortunatly no the DMM Pinto Pulley does not pass through either of the CT Steel Rings (S or L)
The DMM Pinto Pulley will fit through the PenSafe 7600 Steel ring which is the 2 5/16" size with just a little room to spare.

A canopy anchor must have.
The CT Steel Ring is the only product or Ring that I trust for a canopy anchor. Far exceeds its B-S rating. It's a heavy bugger but worth its weight in gold for the added confidence.
