High Failure Rate - Do not use
I was giving a talk at an arborist conference about cabling last week and while I wasn't getting into the weeds about hardware someone asked about these. I mentioned that I don't like them because we had several failures where they simply slipped off the cable. Basically everyone else I talked to who had used these had experienced similar issues. I thought we had just gotten unlucky and received a bad batch. I even reached out to PLP about the issue and while they did respond they never really took it seriously. I don't think Arbsession should even be selling them, they are a highly problematic product and should be recalled.
Don’t use
I agree with the other review, these should not be sold. If I see a wire hanging free- 90% of the time this product was the culprit. The latest one I went to lasted less than 2 years. The cable will literally just slip right out and companies are using these on high risk trees with serious consequences.
Nope
I’m surprised this product still exists. Highly unreliable. Go get some Rig Guy wire stops and you’ll never have to worry about hardware failing when it matters.
Buyer Beware
We bought these and had several of them fail before the tree did. The interior components failed resulting in the hardware coming apart. Went back to rig guy.
unfortunately not a reliable produce
id think twice before this product. super fast to instal but prone to failure. ive had at least a dozen of these fail resulting in some stems failing. not ideal. it be great if they could figure out the problem.
one of the slickest things I have ever used
I have only used the WEDGE-GRIP™ Dead-ends a couple times but it is an insanely fast tool! I have always used a nut and a cone but for some reason at one point we had some of these. After using them a couple times I notice that all the guys talk about them every time we are up there pulling wire apart to put cones on. It blows my mind how fast these things can be set up! For someone who is good at setting nuts and cones it only takes a couple minutes. however with these a complete amateur can set them up in seconds! highly recommend!
