The hand splice will pass through the Zig Zag. It is a consistant diameter all the way through.

My Favorite
I like the splice, the diameter and the hand feel/knotability of the cover. Several seasons of production and the rope has aged well, resistant to flattening and glazing. I run RRP and RW. Courant Kalimba is not the most static rope but a good little bounce for efficient ascent. About to buy my second one.
Excellent rope | Pair with the Phoenix Hitch Cord
The Courant Kalimba is supple yet holds knots and friction well. Amazing rope and friction control when paired with the Courant Phoenix hitch cord and ArbSession Hitch. Bright in color and stands out well. Soft yet durable. Works well in mechanical equipment as well.
great rope
Courant Kalimba feels great in hand and works well with MRS and SRS. It's great that as an EN 1891 type A rope it can be used with toothed ascenders and friction hitches. The splice is amazingly compact. This is my favorite rope.
Great rope
Not too stretchy, works very well in a worn akimbo, stays nice and round under load in a rope crushing climbing device like the akimbo or runner. Visible in the tree, very impressed with the Courant Kalimba rope. It's like blue moon that stays round.
