I have recently purchased a courant squir rope and wanted to know if it recommended soaking this rope for 24 hours

Yes courant does state that you are to soak your rope prior to first use.  Here is their instructions.

4.1 Set up
Prior to first use:
- For ropes on reels, unroll to prevent rope twisting.
- Soak your rope for 24 hours in cold water and let it dry in a warm, ventilated room, away from UV
rays and away from sources of heat. It shrinks approximately 5%.
