Gibbs Products Inc.

In 1965 Charles Gibbs, showed his brother Peter Gibbs a mechanical ascender that he had built for vertical spelunking. Peter set out to manufacture it.  Over time Gibbs Ascenders found many niches to fill besides ascending ropes, including setting up rigging for rock concerts and protecting tree climbers. There have been many modifications for specific markets but the basic design remains unchanged.
